Performances
Paula has collaborated with leading ensembles and orchestras in the field of early music such as the Netherlands Bach Society (NL), Baroque Orchestra of the Zurich Opera “La Scintilla” (CH), La Lira di Orfeo (IT), Arte dei Suonatori (PL), Concerto d’Amsterdam (NL), Finnish Baroque Orchestra (FIN), Ensemble InAlto (BE), Theresia Orchestra, Kölner Akademie (DE), hr-Sinfonieorchester (DE), la festa musicale (DE), Elbipolis (DE), and Göttinger Barockorchester (DE), to name just a few.
In recent years, her concert activities have brought her to renowned festivals including Thüringer Bachwochen, ZAMUS Early Music Festival, Musikfestspiele Potsdam, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, Bachfest Leipzig, Bachwoche Ansbach, Musikfest Bremen, Actus Humanus (PL), Trigonale Festival (AT), Gstaad Menuhin Festival (CH), and Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht (NL), among others.
Marsyas Baroque
Paula is a co-founder and member of the ensemble Marsyas Baroque. The four-member ensemble develops concept-driven early music programs with a focus on contemporary relevance, context, and artistic dialogue. It also collaborates with contemporary composers and works across disciplines with artists from theatre, dance, literature, and visual arts.
Background
Paula plays baroque bassoon, classical bassoon, dulcian, and recorder. She completed her Master’s degree in historical bassoon at the Koninklijk Conservatorium The Hague with Benny Aghassi, following studies with Giovanni Battista Graziadio at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. She studied recorder at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Dorothee Oberlinger and at the Bern University of the Arts with Michael Form. Her musical path began as a young student at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg.
Her artistic work has been supported by scholarships from institutions including the German National Academic Foundation, the German Orchestra Foundation, and the German Music Council. From an early age, she has received several awards, including the GWK Encouragement Award in Music, first prize at the Biagio Marini Competition, and the First Liebenberg Audience Award.
